The Good Shepherd
The Good Shepard is about the CIA operations during the Bay of Pigs. Edward Wilson investigates and recalls flashbacks of being at Yale, his fathers death, ex relationships, decaying marriage and the non-exsisting relationship between him and his son.
They suppected there to be a mole who leaked out information about the Bay of Pigs. While looking for clues they find a video that was leaked of the suppected spy getting infomation from a "lover". In this journey, they come in contact with other mole suppects like the deaf woman and the man who plays the violin. They evenutally wipe these guys out. As the film progresses, they get more infomation about that video and get information on where it is at. As edward gets there he finds that his son was in the room and it was he, who leaked information from secertly listen to his father, to his russian lover. Since he didn't want to kill his son, they had to kill the russian lover. They came to a point in the movie where they find out that the so suppected "spy" was pregnant with Edward's grandson. This movie finally end when Edward find his father suicide note and reads it. It reveals how his father wasn't happy because he had to betray his friends for his job and then Edward burns the note...
My opinion on this movie is that it was a very slow movie and all the flashbacks confused alot of people with trying to understand the plot. Also, I think alot of information presented in the movie took away from the plot, for example, like his relationships with woman and old friends. I understand why the CIA was put in place but I also think the stuff they do is very unconstitutional. They accuse people of being spys without proof and have in there heads that there had to be a mole in order for the Pay of Pigs to happen. What if there wasn't a mole and it just happen by surprize. No one will ever know...
